Tucked away in the middle of Atlanta is the majestic Callanwolde Fine Arts Center. It reminds me of a old Bavarian mansion. Paige has set up many wedding cakes from her previous job there, but I had only seen pictures and heard excited words about the venue. I was very excited for a Pêche Petite wedding cake to be featured at Callanwolde. I love this cake. The huge blooms are at once dramatic and demanding your attention and yet so simple. They create this natural romantic feeling that is so perfectly effortless. You’ll see this again later as I stroll around the venue. Paige and I had the pleasure of working with the merry staff of Juli Vaughn Designs, the wedding’s florist. Each flower was carefully chosen, examined, debated and placed until a gorgeous cascade emerged and the cake was complete. Billy balls are always a good counterpoint to full and fluffy blooms. I especially dig the green-centered ranunculus! So cool! The florals really tied the whole wedding together. The incredibly talented Melissa Bloomfield of Pretty Swell Parties designed the wedding, and it came out gorgeous! The ceremony trellis brought to mind A Mid-Summer’s Night Dream because it was so romantic and almost mythical. The natural beauty created this mood of fairy tale love. The blooms were magical and huge!
Vintage furniture created a lovely sitting area for cocktail hour.
The reception took place in this bright, open room – reminiscent of a little outdoor European cafe.
Unique centerpieces were comprised of charming nostalgic items like this typewriter and vintage book. The flowers added balance as a fresh burst of life in the present.
Sparkling chandeliers and delicate fabrics added elegance to the ambiance.
The cake table was set up in front of the stage, for all to admire.Another timeless and beautiful Pêche Petite wedding cake!
